Obama invite
April 01, 2007

A friend recently invited me to an Obama fundraiser. After thanking him for the invite, I wrote this:

Barack seems like a very smart guy with all the right qualities, who is going to leave Hillary battered an bruised, if not completely defeated.
I have decided that I am going to stay out of politics (apart from a few rabid right wing rants from time to time.)
The problem in the democratic party seems to be a totally rabid left wing core – who will have the scalp of whoever does not agree with them on certain key issues (e.g. Iraq – witness Joe Lieberman – a good man’s fate in Ct.) How on earth one can win that nomination and then go on to take the country is beyond me. Seems to me that Giuliani will have a much easier time because the rabid right wing of that party is more willing to support a centrist candidate.
